UPCOMING AUDITIONS

Posted on 11:13 by tony
AMERICAN IDOL® began its 14th season nationwide search for the best undiscovered talent in the country and later this year, AMERICAN IDOL® XIV will be headed out on the annual “AMERICAN IDOL® Audition Bus Tour.” Cities to be visited include Columbus, OHIO.

Acting in Columbus was contacted by AMERICAN IDOL Producers seeking talent for their "fast track" auditions. This audition opportunity is available for Acting in Columbus students and alumni only - please contact Richard Mason at actingincolumbus@yahoo.com to be submitted.

MadLab Theatre will be holding auditions for the play Memory Fragments. Auditions will be readings from the scripts and will be held on July 19th from 12- 3pm at MadLab at 227 North 3rd Street. Seeking males and females 18+ for several roles. For more information or to request a copy of the scripts, please contact director Andy Batt at andy@madlab.net.

Memory Fragments will take place from October 16-18, 24-25, 31-November 1, 2014.

'LIGHTS OUT' will be shooting October 17-20 in Ashland, OH.

'Lights Out'is about a man named Bruce who is afraid of the dark. While visiting his childhood home left to him in his mother's will, he gets caught in a blackout, forcing him to face the origin of his childish fear.

Breakdown:
George (male 26-35): One of Bruce’s(the protagonist) only friends. He really cares for Bruce, but is too caught up in his own affairs to be proactive about helping him. George is successful and has the typical lawyer attitude and has an impeccable taste in style.

Little Bruce (Caucasian male 9-12): Bruce as a child (about 10 years old) is timid and always walking on eggshells around his mother. He has seen her at her best and seen her at her worst only he doesn't know when she will snap and start screaming at him for a seemingly insignificant mistake.

Bruce's Mother (Caucasian female 26-35): She is a perfectionist, and wants Bruce to be the best. Her house is kept immaculate, portraying her desire for perfection. She is so nice when she is in a good mood(like a fake overly nice) but when she is angry everyone knows it, and she is a monster. The source of this anger is from abuse from her past that she has repressed and only comes out when she is not in control.

Old Wise Man (Caucasian male 60-75): God-like all knowing man, who supports Bruce in his search for inner peace, and gives him his ultimatum to overcome his fear or to let it kill him.

Actors should contact jackstudenyfinlay@gmail.com with the subject line “Casting: [character] - [full name]” to set up a meeting.
